  • Recognize the unique features of a mental health claim, including how legislation affects system decisions and an update on new legislation for first responders in British Columbia
  • Identify the mental health team at WorkSafeBC and how they manage mental health injuries
  • Describe accepted mechanism of injury for mental health injuries: traumatic events, significant stressors, and bullying and harassment as they relate to the workplace
  • Identify the variety of comprehensive treatment providers and programs available for your patients with an accepted mental health injury through WorkSafeBC

D. Musculoskeletal imaging for the injured worker patient & physical medicine workshop on EMG/nerve conduction studies

  • Identify when to order imaging and what type
  • Describe the risks and interpretation of non-pathological imaging findings
  • Interpret incidental-omas
  • Describe when it is useful to refer patients for EMG/NCS
  • Interpret the meaning of nerve conduction studies/EMG at a level useful for the primary care physician
